What an interesting scene you paint through the words you used. The hues of the forest, corpses of dead flowers and leaves covering secrets lurking out of sight beneath sets the scene for magical possibilities.
A sudden sound and you believe the witches are lurking nearby. Are they really there? Are they good witches or more like the Grand High Witch in Roald Dahl’s “The Witches”? We might have to wait for a possible sequel in a future 100WC when you reveal the end of your story.
